MedTerra's CBD is it worth it? Let me work it.

Updated: Jul 11, 2020

It’s no secret that the usage of CBD has become all the rage in the past year.

Okay so what is it exactly?

CBD or Cannabidiol oil is one of over 100 chemical compounds known as cannabinoids found in the cannabis or marijuana plant. The widespread use has been formulated in creams, balms, sublingual drops, and capsules. With the most popular claims to fame being to help decrease, anxiety, stress, insomnia, and when used topically to offset acute to chronic pains. There are other uses I’m sure… but I’m here to talk about what I know.

Quality CBD supplements are manufactured without Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) which is the main psychoactive cannabinoid found in cannabis, and causes the sensation of getting “high” that’s often associated with marijuana. However, unlike THC, CBD is not psychoactive. So no, you’re not doing anything wrong by wanting to try the new phenomenon. As a matter of fact, a couple sublingual drops under the tongue each day may reduce the need to finish an entire case of boxed wine, after a long day at the office. CBD oil is made by extracting CBD from the cannabis plant, then diluting it with a carrier oil like coconut, or hemp seed oil which makes it the ideal candidate for anti-inflammatory topical use.

During the 2019 New York City Marathon, I was given the opportunity to partner up with Medterra, a company that manufactures quality CBD products in the United States. During this partnership I was able to host a post marathon event, and provide runners with samples of the Medterra product, both in their ingestible, and topical formulations. It was a fantastic experience to provide inflammation, and stress relief to the dedicated people who train so hard, and diligently all year long, and then to send them home with samples (A lot of them) from a company who cares about their accomplishments, and their self-care regime!

Prior to being introduced to Medterra I had tried some lackluster CBD brands that didn’t really “Do-it” for me, both orally, and topically. However, the moment I tried Medterras roll-on cream, and standard rapid cooling cream, I was blown away! The instant effects of menthol kicked in, and were felt immediately. Additionally, the long lasting effects of the CBD to reduce inflammation, and soreness to the treated areas were the WOW factor in these two products. Because I have no chronic pain, and take pretty good care of myself I cannot speak to how CBD would work on areas of severe pains (shin splints, bone spurs, arthritis etc.) But I can tell you after a long day, leg day, heavy cardio, a kinked or twisted neck, or tense shoulders these are the products to try! Unfortunately, the days of traditional muscle rubs are gone, and we are a culture of comfort. Bringing us to try the products that will give us the most bang for our buck, and keep our discomforts at bay the longest.

Lastly, the products by Medterra absorb into the skin exceptionally fast, and do not leave your skin oily, greasy, waxy, or balmy running the risk of oil stains on your clothing which I especially appreciated. And as an added bonus, this product does not smell like your typical overbearing muscle rub as Tea-Tree, and citrus fruits are incorporated into the Non-GMO list of ingredients. As always check with your doctor if you have any serious health conditions before adding anything new into your regimen.

Medterra’s Rapid cooling cream roll on, and the standard cooling cream are priced reasonably starting at 34.99
